Great mezcal alternative with a real bite and flavor.
You have a great concept here. As with smoking, part of the experience is social and habitual. The problem is the toxic nature of the original product! It's a tough task to mimic the taste and feel of good spirits without a lot of mixers, whose taste remains the same in a familiar cocktail. Great job with the gin! It's a botanical, so more achievable. The mezcal is less successful. A Jalapeno cocktail. The umami character of the tequila is elusive. The whiskey is decent. The rum, leaning towards root beer. I give you all the credit you accomplishing what you have. I tend to drink good stuff neat or on ice, so I'm not an easy audience.
The whiskey and mescal are so seriously good. They are my go to for dry January, damp February, and anytime I need to have a clear head in the morning, but want to enjoy a cocktail the night before — give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed!
Monday gin is still the fave, but we're adding the Mezcal to the mix for cooler temps and warmer drinks.
